Types of Heavy Duty Granulators
Reverse Wet Granulator

Working Principle of Heavy Duty Granulators




Dry Cutting
The dry cutting pellet production method means that after the strip material is extruded from the extruder, it is cut into granules of uniform length by the rotating blade immediately, and then the pellet is sent to the cooling and screening device by the fan through the pipeline. This granulation method is suitable for mixing and granulating polyethylene gas materials.
Water Ring Cutting
The production method of water ring pelletizing means that the strips extruded from the extruder are immediately pelletized by the rotating blade and thrown to the high-speed rotating water ring attached to the inner wall of the pelletizing machine, and then the water flow removes the pellets. Take it to the water separator for dehydration, dry it and then send it to the material cooling device for cooling, which is the finished product. This production method is suitable for mixing and granulating polyolefin materials.
Underwater Cutting
The underwater pelletizing production method means that the strips extruded by the extruder are immediately put into water to cool down, and then cut into pellets, and then the pellets are sent to the centrifugal dryer by circulating water for dehydration and drying. Maintenance Tips For Heavy Duty Granulators
Bearing
Bearing is a vital component in the plastic crusher. There should be frequent lubrication of the bearing. It will enable it to roll easily without any obstruction. If there is no proper maintenance, rust will cause it to become stiff. While it is very important to lubricate the bearing, it is advisable not to apply excessive lubricating substances to avoid damage to the bearing.
Maintenance Of The Edge And Blade
To ensure that the edges are sharp, it is important to regularly sharpen them appropriately. It is a good way to avoid damage to the tools. Moreover, when the edge is blunt it will require more force for the crusher to break large stones. Furthermore, sharpen the blade to avoid it becoming blunt. Check Before Starting-Up
When you get a new granulator, there are two points for you to take care of. First, before starting the granulator, check whether the rotor blades work normally by rotating them manually. After starting, make sure the direction of rotation of the rotor stays the same with the arrow mark on the machine. Change Of Cutter And Screen
In a situation where the cutter of a plastic crusher needs replacement, the person who will replace the cutter should give proper attention to the clearance between the fixed cutter and the moving cutter. For the screen, check the pull button to know if it is tight or not. If it is not tight, use the screw to tighten it to the button bracket.
Always Empty Your Storage Bin
Your granulator has a bin to collect the regrind after it is ground and falls through the screen. This bin is often— and inaccurately—referred to as a storage bin. You should never, ever store regrind in this bin. Regrind is just held there temporarily so it doesn't spill all over your floor. If the granulate stays too long in this bin, it backs up. And when it backs up, it increases wear in the blades, wear in the screens, and of course, throughput decreases dramatically.
Troubleshooting of Heavy Duty Granulators
Reasons: Unstable power supply voltage or poor contact; insufficient heater heating or a heater does not work, which makes the motor overload due to excessive torque
Treatment methods: Check the main motor circuit connection of the plastic granulator machine; check the temperature display of each section of the heater, and check whether the heater has poor contact or damage.
Causes: The transmission V belt becomes loose, wears and slips; or the safety key becomes loose or disconnected.
Troubleshooting methods: Adjust the centre distance of the V-belt, tighten the belt, or replace it with a new V-belt; check the safety key, analyze the cause of the break, and replace the safety key.
Reasons: The feeding of the hopper is not continuous, or there is a foreign object blocking the feeding port, or a metal hard object falls into the screw groove to block the screw groove, and the material cannot be fed normally.
Solutions: The troubleshooting method for this failure: increase the feed volume to keep the screw feeding continuously; stop the machine to check and remove the foreign matter in the feed port. If it is confirmed that there is a metal foreign body falling into the screw groove, stop the machine immediately to remove the screw and remove the metal foreign body.
Causes: There are impurities in the raw materials, the feed speed is too fast to make the screw extrusion unstable, or the plasticization temperature is not enough.
Treatment method: Clean the raw materials before feeding or replace the filter screen, reduce the feeding amount to make the screw extrude smoothly, or increase the plasticizing temperature. However, the temperature should not be too high to prevent burns to the plastic and affect the quality of production.
Reasons: The feed system failure caused the twin-screw idling.
Solution measures: Check whether the additive system or the main material feeding system is faulty, and clean the blockage of the plastic granulator.
