There are many names for plastic waste recycling equipment, and the names vary considerably between the north and south. However, generally speaking, the mainstream names can be divided into three categories. Let's take a look!
1. Plastic Granulator: "Plastic" is the most common name nowadays. Plastic waste is plasticized into a uniform melt through the extrusion system of the plastic granulator. Under the pressure built up during this process, it is continuously extruded through the screw die head. After cooling in a cooling tank, drying in a drying device, and then entering a pelletizer for pelletizing, it is finally screened to filter out particles of uneven size. Therefore, it is named "plastic granulator" because of its manufacturing process and the shape of the final product!
II. Plastic Extruders: The entire process is largely similar. Different auxiliary machines can be used to produce products of different shapes and specifications. Therefore, another common name emphasizes the most important part of the process: the extrusion system. The plastic is plasticized into a uniform melt through the extrusion system and then extruded, hence the name "plastic extruder."
III. Plastic Granulators: The name "plastic granulator" is very similar to "plastic pelletizer." However, while "plastic granulator" is named simply based on the shape of the final product, "plastic pelletizer" also includes the meaning of the "manufacturing process." "Pellet" also refers to granules.
Besides these three mainstream names, two other names based on the most important component of the pelletizer-the "screw"-are also widely accepted. These are called "single-screw extruders" and "twin-screw extruders" based on the number of screws.
